Every corporate boardroom on earth is full of ‘em right now.  Big, important boss types pounding their scared marketing team with words like “Twitterspere” ,”Blogroll” and “Wiki.”  ”We need a iPhone App!!!” they demand.  Why? They have no idea.  But they move forward, paying their crack R&D team to interview 12-year-olds and study the likes of “marketing genius” Ashton Kutcher for “business” research.  They think they need this stuff and duh!? They want to be cool with you, dawg!
Well, well, well – here at the inner sanctum of the Golden Tee marketing universe – we are hip. Â We are with it. And yes, bro – we can hang with you wiki-tubey-tweety hip cats too! Â But damn it – we do it with some common sense and style.
Ya know, the Golden Tee marketing team is small, but we are MIGHTY! Â And you’ve probably noticed an equal amount of Golden Tee Goodness on and off the game this past year. Â We kicked it off with YouTube Great Shot Replays in last year’s 2009 update. Â The simple idea of replaying holes-in-one has always been around, but when our team first eyed YouTube the drool starting forming. Â It was a way to make everyone happy – YOU, the player, are happy because you can show off your off-the-ubrella-stick-nothin-but-cup. Â And I, the marketing geek, am happy because we’ve uploaded 30,000 videos and are approaching 1,000,000 advertisements, errr, views! Â User generated content at it’s best, baby.
Here's My Incredible Stat Card, Where's Yours?!
But we didn’t stop there. Â And likely by now you’ve seen our killer new Facebook Applications. Â The addition of dynamic stats cards for Golden Tee and Silver Strike Bowling, along with our new “Dress Your Golfer” app for Goldentee.com/Facebook – this stuff’s just the tip of your 2.0 iceberg.
Yesterday, we launched a fun  project for those millions of iGoogle users out there – our very first Golden Tee iGoogle theme! (insert applause here)  So whether searching for important items like dogs on skateboards, celebrity smut or, aaaa , “private entertainment” – we here at Golden Tee Central hope you git’r done within your fun Golden Tee frame!
So, are you left wondering, “Duffer, how is this any different than those big-time-poser corporate fat cats you speak of?” Well, my friends, I can proudly say that social media is only as good as the community that’s powering it and YOU GUYS ROCK!  Whether it’s through our presence on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube, you – THOUSANDS OF YOU – were there first and greased the IT social media marketing machine.  We came along merely to add a little more insight and legitimacy into your already existing communities and thanks dudes – we’ve learned a ton along the way.
To end this post, I propose the challenge for you to challenge us…
HOW CAN INCREDIBLE TECHNOLOGIES HELP FURTHER YOUR ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCE THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA?
An easy question, with no right or wrong answers. Â We’ve already heard many great suggestions like “blog about course creation” or ” exclusive contests for Facebook and Twitter users” – whatever your suggestion is, now is your chance to voice it! Â And maybe, just maybe, your suggestion will help shape the future of Golden Tee Golf! Â And that, my friends, if anything else, would be an AWESOME acheivment on your ol’ resume…
Good times,
- DD

DD you guys are always thinking of fun stuff! Plus I love the new look to the site if I do say so myself!
Better to use this or Twitter for suggestions?
You stated you are looking for ideas…
-All clubs and balls availible to everyone
-Choice to turn off commentary
-Smart phone application that lets users find a game using the phones GPS to tie in with your game locator, and tell you where the closest game is when you are not close to your home bar
-Ability to partially cashout your account
Either or, buddy. But we get more traffic here – POST IT!
-dd
How bout somewhere where the 17+ handicaps can chat with the 24-26+ handicaps so we can find out where we need to tweak our game, … It’s just frustrating when you bust your ass and get a -23 and look up to some guy beat you by 9 strokes
Posted on twitter:
-Hit list volumn controls.
-Allow users to select their own clubs…custom club selection: Big Bertha Driver and a 1 iron Mmm
New ideas:
-”other features” to enchance the player look: size, height, *cough* chest size *cough*
-A game with random 18 holes, that’s played tourney style. That way you know know what’s next.
-BRING BACK SKINS!
Sobe tours the west and south west!
WOW! I can tell you there is some gold here. Keep ‘em comin’ guys. I can also tell you some of this stuff is coming in Golden Tee 2010 – I’ll send a tshirt to the first person to guess what?!
-DD
How about I win some irons?
I hope it is the ability to turn off commentary, but realistically my guesses would be the random 18 or the skins.
Duffer, Ill guess option to turn off commentary… Seems like it would be the easiest on your end…
0 – you jacka55
I’ve been called many things. Stunt Rapist… Stunt C0ck… g0d… I was even called a chicken this weekend
But jacka55, that just crosses the line!!!
Don’t make me post pics of your bare a55!
Bring out the Bangin USA tour bus!!!
10 bangers from across the US travel to different GT hotspots holding mini tourneys and teaching noobs.
Players either get voted out by viewers or knocked off for losing matches. Do it. :^p
How about an available game locater/app? When you have an hour to kill until you need to be home it sucks to walk in and see the machine taken.
“10 bangers from across the US travel…” Totally NOT what I thought what that post was going to be.
How about a rewind option. Yes the replay is great, the quick play is nice (especially on 18 of Black Hills), but a rewind would be nice too.
How about CTTP availible to everyone? Mini-tourneys for that…or even Mini-tourneys Tues and Thursday between 4 and 8 EST (so guys in AZ *cough* me *cough* and CA) could play from 1 – 5. Granted we’d be on the tail end…but that’s good for us because all you guys would be drunk by then. I know I know…we all play better drunk.
Why not let folks set up club and ball selections online? This includes buying clubs and balls they don’t already have. Open up the options to buy all the old club sets and ball styles as well.
Once you own a club set (or two , or six), I like the idea of a custom club set. Would it skew contest results? No more than allowing some contest players to select “Random tees” while others play straight black tees.
Think Big Bertha set, but swap the 7-iron for a 1-iron for those punch shots.
Guys, there is some great stuff here – I am sending this list right to the top! 0 is on to something. I can’t reveal everything – but 0 is the closest.
CP – I really like your suggesting. We are working on something similar, but your way is even better. Good stuff, brother.
I’m not sure I like the idea of “winning” irons or woods. If you can’t afford the $2 for clubs…then maybe you should rethink your Golden Tee experience (addiction). However, if they were clubs that you couldn’t buy… like a set of Double Secret Probation clubs… well, that’d be different.
If you did have the “choose your own clubs” bag, I wonder how many would pull a Phil and carry 12 types of Wedges? Or do the tin Cup idea and just carry a 7. …now that’s an idea for a game. Just 1 club (and maybe a putter) to shoot a round. I’ve done this on a “real” course before…
Another suggestion: Night golf? It affects the flight of the balls differently. You don’t get as much hook/slice.
I would still like to see a feature from the player account page to add money to our player account. Most people probably do not think this is a big deal, but those of us in Glory only states would probably use it quite a bit
Glory only state?
Yeah Rick, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Jersey, Louisiana and I think 1 other state do not allow us to play for prizes
Nate, that blows. However, seeing as I normally win only a buck or two when I play it doesn’t add up fast. I use it for buying balls…(I lose a lot of them
)
We can’t play big tourney’s out here in AZ either, but we can play in GT.
Suggestion for GT2010…tourey’s out west.
Duffer, send my my shirt!
LOL
Actually, maybe just buy me a beer next time.
How about fixing the stuff that’s wrong right now before moving forward…
Thanks for the drop ON THE ROCK HILL on BH #17 last night. :\
“Thanks for the drop ON THE ROCK HILL on BH #17 last night. :\”
Just hit it on the green then you won’t get the bad drop.
What about choice of drops for GT2010? Maybe a choice of 3?
So you’d rather have it drop you across the water, Skip? lol!!!
and Duff, why couldn’t you just put my name as Dannyboy since you obviously didn’t like my thousand and one W’s that I put as my name. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1am? Wtf? LOL. Its like 8pm.
Oh, and Rick, there’s a national tourney Aug 15-17 in Denver. Go check the GT message board and bring all your AZ boys! :^D
So here’s some recycled ideas…
Take an old course (COMPLETE) and once a month put one in addition to the five available for prizes.
Contact the PGA Tour, get a national tourney in a bar in whatever city they’re having their tourney in that week. Have them kick in the big bux too!!!
(and then Russ’ crew could have their traveling tourney machines at each tourney)
Do it!!!
How can we change the laws in AZ so that we can play cash tourneys? How frustrating… I would love to travel to Denver for a tournament, but can’t really afford it.
I am all for an Iphone application that uses the GPS in the phone. Just click on the app and it will tell you where the closest GT is to you. This would be great for those of us that travel. Seems to me that you have most of the work already done with your locator on the website.
So far I am really impressed with your site. The quality of your content and nice design makes it a real winner!
